Get Paid To Shop! Cash Back for Buying Kids Clothes, Gear, Books, Toys, and MORE!

Parents, we all know how we love to shop for the perfect clothes, gear, and toys for our kids! Shopping online gives us the opportunity to purchase items we might not find in our local stores.

How would you like to get paid for shopping?

I've been using Ebates for about 3 years now when I shop online. Instead of going directly to the website, I login to Ebates and click on their link. It automatically tracks how much I spend, and the cash back is posted to my account. Payment is sent to my Paypal account. Best of all, it's completely free. No catches or commitments. Once you try it though, you are going to wish you'd known about it a long time ago.

Plus they are affiliated with Ebay. So if you like to Ebay, you are going to love this. I earn cash back on each and every Ebay auction I win. Using Ebates doesn't change your shopping experience at all. You simply click on their link to the website you want to shop at instead of going directly to it yourself.

Here are some of the baby and kids stores they are affiliated with. Believe me, the cash adds up fast. I'm also posting the cash back amount for each store.

What The Chiropractor Can Do For Your Child

When my youngest son hit two, he started getting ear infections pretty often. This continued on for awhile, especially during the winter months. I personally am not a big fan of tubes, but I did take him to an ear and nose specialist to see what options we had. The specialist agreed with me about the tubes, and said that he doesn't like to put tubes in for a child over 1 anyhow. By this time my son was over 4. My biggest concern was hearing loss. Everytime you turn around, you see media stating a big connection between ear infections and hearing loss. I had a hearing check done on my son just to be sure and he could hear perfectly. Really he just said to continue on like we had and come back to see him if we needed him.

To be honest though, this just wasn't the answer I wanted to hear. Ear infections are painful, and I didn't want my son to have to keep going through this.

After a ton of research, I decided to take him to the chiropractor. Years ago, I had went to one myself and the doctor was still in business. I saw a lot of parents that stated how much taking their child to the chiropractor helped with a variety of different health issues. I figured it was well worth a try.

We ended up going several times in the first month. Generally, Chiropractors do this. On the first visit, the receptionist told me that she used to have sinus problems. After being hired to work, she decided to give Chiropractic services a try. She told me she hadn't had a sinus problem since.

I felt very optimistic.

My son did extremely well, thanks to the kid friendly attitude this particular Chiropractor has. The best part of all, is that my son hasn't had an ear infection since then. The Chiropractor seemed to focus his adjustments in the neck area. I believe that this helped with ear fluid draining, thus eliminating the ear infections. It's been a year now, and we are ear infection free!

I've studied this pretty extensively, and I've seen testimonies from other parents regarding the benefits of taking their child to the Chiropractor. Parents take their kids for a variety of reasons including sinus problems, ear infections, bedwetting, constipation, and of course if their child has back pain, etc. I've read testimony after testimony about how visiting a Chiropractor stopped the problems their child may have been experiencing.

Our Chiropractor explained to me that they believe that if the nervous system gets out of whack, it can cause a variety of health problems. When you get an adjustment, that helps to get your nervous system back into gear. You wouldn't think something like that would be so effective.

If your child has anything going on like ear infections, etc, I would find a local, kid-friendly Chiropractor to visit and get their opinion. Really it's a case where you got to see it to believe it. From my understanding though, Chiropractors will see even infants. It's well worth making the effort to at least see how it can help your child.

Elena Kagan Confirms Her Support for International Law

Homeschooling parents, please take action about this issue. The HSLDA felt very strongly about this, and it's a sign that we need to act.

Elena Kagan Confirms Her Support for International Law

HSLDA urges our members and homeschoolers nationwide to call their two U.S. senators and express their opinions on the nomination of Elena Kagan for Supreme Court.

Elana Kagan was recently nominated by President Obama to replace Justice John Paul Stevens on the Supreme Court. Ms. Kagan underwent a four-day confirmation hearing held by the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee ending July 1.

HSLDA has been concerned about Ms. Kagan’s nomination because of her support of international law over the U.S. Constitution while she was dean of Harvard School of Law. Our concerns were not alleviated, but only grew with Kagan’s answers during her hearing.

For instance, Senator Chuck Grassley (IA) asked Ms. Kagan on the second day of the hearings, “Should judges look to foreign law for ‘good ideas?’ ”

Ms. Kagan responded, “I am in favor of good ideas wherever we can get them.”

Senator Grassley later asked, “If you were confirmed, would you rely on or cite international foreign law when deciding cases?”

Ms. Kagan’s response: “It depends. There are some cases in which the citation of foreign law or international law might be appropriate.”

We are concerned about Kagan citing foreign or international law as a Supreme Court justice because of the danger that could ensue if she ever cited the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) as precedent in a Supreme Court opinion. This treaty could severely limit parental rights. To learn more about why Kagan citing the CRC as a Supreme Court Justice would be dangerous please read “Will Elena Kagan use International Law as Supreme Court Justice?”

We encourage you to call your two U.S. senators and share with their staff your thoughts about Ms. Kagan’s confirmation. We expect that the full Senate will vote on Ms. Kagan's nomination in the next couple of weeks.

You can reach your two U.S. senators by calling the Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121, or toll-free at 866-220-0044. You can find your U.S. senators by using HSLDA’s Legislative Toolbox.
