Wow, way to much estrogen

Have you ever noticed just how much media can affect your mood?

This afternoon I was channel surfing, and I came across the Lifetime movie about CoCo Chanel. I love Shirley MacLaine, so I decided to check it out. It really was a sad tale about unrequited love. It's kind of sad, because the movie makes me think that she experienced so much disappoint with her love affairs, that she ended up staying single for life. I couldn't imagine a life without my children.

After this I couldn't find anything to watch, so I ended up watching the movie Evening. I have seen this one other time, months ago. This too is a sad tale of unrequited love. It starts out with an older lady on her deathbed. She has flashbacks to a weekend she spent with her best friend on her wedding weekend. She ends up falling in love with one of the other guests. During this time, the bride's brother ends up dead. Due to the guilt of this, her and the man of her dreams never went beyond that weekend.

The lady ends up having two failed marriages and two daughters. The daughters are now grown and going through their own personal issues. As the old lady is halicinating and drifting in and out of consciousness, she relives that weekend. She also relives moments of her children growing up, and things she should have done different.

After watching these two movies, I tell you I'm near tears and ready to call it a day. No wonder guys fight like trapped animals when their woman mentions chick flick lol.

It's amazing that humans are so sensitive to stimuli like movies. Maybe the next time you are feeling bummed out, you should pop a really funny movie in or an uplifting song. It will probably do the trick.

Hi, I'm a single mom too and moving to Kentucky in January (living in Portland now).
Have you ever heard of iHeartSingleParents.com?
I'm the co-creator and want to start meeting other single parents from Kentucky to let them know about us. =) (and for selfish reasons, so I can start building a support base and friends too!)

I also blog at ModernSingleMomma.com

Thanks for your helpful and honest blog, glad to know there is at least one blogging single mom in Ky I can relate too! =)
